A Strategy for the Harvest

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

                                                                                          Matthew 28:19–20

Mission Statement
The Potomac Baptist Association shall exist to encourage, strengthen, and assist our member churches by providing information and resources to carry out Missions, Christian Education, and Evangelism/Church Planting.

Vision Statement
We envision that the members of our associational churches will be significantly involved in support of Missions, Christian Education, and Evangelism/ Church Planting in every community where there are people to reach using all available technology and resources.

Core Values
Biblically Based We believe the Bible is our sole authority and we will be guided by the Word of God.

Evangelistic
We believe that God has called us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all people. We will focus on effective evangelism which will result in new disciples and new congregations.

Mission Minded We believe that through Christian Education and partnership with Southern Baptist Convention entities we will begin new works and strengthen existing work.

Cooperation We believe each church is autonomous yet interdependent. We will work together to develop, mobilize, and assist our churches in carrying out the Great Commission.

Four Priority Teams
To accomplish our mission and vision, the Potomac Baptist Association will organize, plan and budget around four priorities. The four Priority Teams and their purpose are as follows:

Missions assist the member churches to focus on the Great Commission to include all the functions that the local church is called to do in the world and local community.

Christian Education assist the member churches to focus on the Great Commission to include all the functions that the local church is called to do in order to disciple believers from spiritual birth to maturity.

Evangelism/Church Planting guide the member churches toward personal group involvement in faith sharing and starting new congregations.

Administration give leadership to budget process development, staff support and legal concerns.
